The Digital buttons are ordinary PCB switches. I added a copper modeltrainpart on top of these potmeters to add a trumpet look. An (artificial) ivory top layer will be added later. The same copperparts are also used to top off the electronic valves

Use while playing:

These are buttons that are mounted directly next to the trumpet valves on top of the lead pipe of the trumpet. Three of them ara also aligned exactly with the trumpet valves. Since they are easy accessible they are especially useful for timed use.

In the current constellation I use them for turning record on and off. With a (nonvisible) fifth button I can do mode switches.

Mechanical information:

The Buttons are mounted on a PCB board with a simple pull down resistor of 10k. Click here for details on the construction of the PCB board.

Future improvements:

At the moment I am looking for buttons that have the same feel but are less noisy and are manufactured for longer endurance when used with copper buttons glued on top. This will probably be fabric buttons with a rubbery top layer.
